Experience

Co-owner - June 2014 to present
Piestar, Inc. - Manhattan, KS

I am the co-owner and primary developer at Piestar, a project impact tracking Software-as-a-Service startup used in several continents by multimillion-dollar projects.

My roles are diverse, but my primary focus is developing our SaaS project and leading its direction and technology.

I built Piestar on the fantastic Laravel PHP framework, using git for version control and ubuntu servers running on Linode. We strive for excellent unit-test coverage, and SOLID object-oriented design, with data-integrity, backups and security concerns front-and-center.

I and our team fall short of these ideals, but we are always progressing toward them, and try to learn from each mistake. I and our team are ruthless to code, but unwaveringly supportive to coders. We are intentional about creating an atmosphere of learning and growth, with stress and drama resolved as quickly and respectfully as possible.
